Call to Worship

How Good, Lord, To Be Here
(VU 103)

How good, Lord, to be here!
Your glory fills the night;
Your face and garments, like the sun,
Shine with unborrowed light.

How good, Lord, to be here,
Your beauty to behold
Where Moses and Elijah stand,
Your messengers of old.

Fulfiller of the past
And hope of things to be,
We hail your body glorified
And our redemption see.

Before we taste of death,
We see your kingdom come;
We long to hold the vision bright
And make this hill our home.

How good, Lord, to be here!
Yet we may not remain;
But since you bid us leave the mount,
Come with us to the plain.

2 Kings 2:1-12

Mark 9:2-9

Written Text: HERE

Take my hands, O Jesus,
let them work for you,
Make them strong and gentle,
Kind in all I do;
Let me watch you, Jesus,
Till I am gentle too,
Till my hands are kind hands,
Quick to work for you.

A 2015 Choir Anthem by Don Besig

If We Truly Believe

Communion Hymn

Christ, be our Host
(VU 465 verses 1 to 3)

Christ, be our Host, welcoming, greeting:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Hear us, we pray, entrance entreating:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Come to the table where mercies are spread!
Come to the feast, all who hunger!

Christ, be our Bread, broken and given:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Here you provide manna from heaven:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Come to the table where mercies are spread!
Come to the feast, all who hunger!

Christ, be our Wine, gift of creation:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Made by your death Cup of Salvation:
This is the banquet your love has prepared!
Come to the table where mercies are spread!
Come to the feast, all who hunger!

Sacrament of Holy Communion

We Pray

Christ, be our Guest in our departing:
Now we are fed by the food you prepared!
Christ, be our Strength, courage imparting:
Now we are fed by the food you prepared!
Go from the feast where my mercies are spread!
Go, I am with you forever!

And We Sing

We Shall Go Out with Hope of Resurrection
(VU 586)

We shall go out with hope of resurrection,
We shall go out, from strength to strength go on,
We shall go out and tell our stories boldly,
Tales of a love that will not let us go.
We'll sing our songs of wrongs that can be righted,
We'll dream our dream of hurts that can be healed,
We'll weave a cloth of all the world united
Within the vision of a Christ who sets us free.

We'll give a voice to those who have not spoken,
We'll find the words for those whose lips are sealed,
We'll make the tunes for those who sing no longer,
Expressive love alive inn every heart.
We'll share our joy with those who are still weeping,
Raise hymns of strength for hearts that break in grief,
We'll leap and dance the resurrection story,
Including all within the circles of our love.

Common Blessing

Filled with the spirit,
Filled with God's grace,
Filled with the friendship
We find in this place;
Called as disciples, go now in faith.
Jesus will show the way.

Go out and serve Him, serve Him.
Carry His word into all of the world.
Go and serve Him, serve Him.
Go out and serve our Lord.
Go serve our Lord.

The Church's One Foundation
(VU 331)

The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ our Lord;
We are his new creation by water and the Word;
From heaven he came and sought us that we might ever be
His living servant people, by his own death set free.

Called forth from every nation, yet one o'er all the earth;
One charter of salvation: one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name professing and at one table fed,
To one hope always pressing, by Christ's own Spirit led.

In The Garden

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear;
The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
