("Dearest Jesus, We Are Here.")

I Am a Child of God

(MV 157, Verse 1)

I am a child of God,

I am a glimpse

Of God's newest creation.

I am a child of God.

Call to Worship

We remember hundreds of thousands of children
whose voices are lost forever.
We come with lament, regrets, and shame.
We gather here today, praying that residential
schools' children never be forgotten.
May our country fight racism and win against
ignorance and prejudice.

Yes, let us make it so that Canada becomes an
example for the world.
Heavenly God, we come to worship and ask
for forgiveness.

We come to celebrate these children, your children.

For The Beauty of The Earth
(VU 266)

For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.

God of all, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light.

For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild.

For each perfect gift of sublime,
To our race so freely given,
Graces human and divine,
Flowers of earth and buds of heaven.

Opening Prayer

Kyrie Eleison

Kyrie eléison.
(Lord, have mercy.)
Christe eléison.
(Christ, have mercy.)

A candle of remembrance
is lit.

God of eternity listen to us, we pray.
Loving God, may your will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Make us bold disciples,
fill us with daring justice that
we become in this world a sign of your presence.
Push us to our very limits so we achieve real and
durable change in our society.
Do not let us fall into temptation of despair
and deliver us from evil;
Gather us as one,
That our testimony be strong and heard.
Peace and justice cannot wait any longer:
Let us bring more of them into our midst;
It is time for your Reign to come.

In Loving Partnership We Come
(VU 603)

In loving partnership we come,
Seeking, O God, your will to do.
Our prayers and actions now receive;
We freely offer them to you.

We are the hands and feet of Christ,
Serving by grace each other's need.
We dare to risk and sacrifice
With truthful word and faithful deed.

Loving community we seek;
Your hope and strength within us move.
The poor and rich, the strong and weak
Are brought together in your love.

In loving partnership, O God,
Help us your future to proclaim.
Justice and peace be our desire,
We humbly pray in Jesus' name.

Christine's Sunday Message

Lord I stretch my hands to You;
no other help I know.
If You should leave me all alone,
where, then, shall I go?

Lord I give my soul to You;
I seek Your care and love.
No other blessings do I need
but those from You above...

Offertory Hymn
Valerie Kingsbury and Christopher Bowman

All that we have, all that we are
We gather here today.
To bring good news of hope and joy
To cherish on the way.
To feed the hungry, heal the sick
And set the captives free.
To build a world where love is lived,
Proclaiming liberty.

May the God of Hope Go with Us
(VU 424)

May the God of hope go with us every day,
Filling all our lives
With love and joy and peace.
May the God of justice speed us on our way,
Bring light and hope to every land and race.

Praying, let us work for peace,
Singing, share our joy with all,
Working for a world that's new,
Faithful when we hear Christ's call.

May the God of healing
Free the earth from fear.
Freeing us for peace,
Both treasured and pursued.
May the god of love keep our commitment clear
To a world restored, to human life renewed.

Go now! Go out to each of your homes
and neighborhoods!
Go out filled with energy and peace!
We go, knowing that we are not alone.
We live in God's world!

Bring with you this morning of prayer,
bring with you this Light of Hope.
God is with us in this journey,
as we walk the road of the saints.

Then go, pray, walk, dance, live and laugh!
Praise be to God!
