Gettting ready...

Introit: There Is Room for All
(MV 62)

There is room for all
In the shadow of God's wing;
There is room for all,
Sheltered in God's love.
And I rejoice and sing,
"My refuge and my rock,
In whom I trust."
There is room for all,
There is room for all!

Chacun a sa place à l'abri
Sous l'aile de Dieu;
Chacun a sa place
En l'amour de Dieu.
De joie, je chanterai:
"Mon refuge en lequel
Je me confie."
Chacun a sa place, chacun a sa place.

There is room for all
In the shadow of God's wing;
There is room for all,
Sheltered in God's love.
And I rejoice and sing,
"My refuge and my rock,
In whom I trust."
There is room for all,
There is room for all!

Hallelujah! and then...

Come In, Come In and Sit Down
(VU 395)

R: Come in, come in and sit down,
You are a part of the family.
We are lost and we are found,
And we are a part of the family.

You know the reason why you came,
Yet no reason can explain;
So share in the laughter
And cry in the pain,
For we are a part of the family. R.

God is with us in this place,
Like a mother's warm embrace.
We're all forgiven by God's grace,
For we are a part of the family. R.

There's life to be shared
In the bread and the wine;
We are the branches,
Christ is the vine.
This is God's temple,
It's not yours or mine,
But we are a part of the family. R.

There's rest for the weary
And health for us all;
There's a yoke that is easy,
And a burden that's small.
So come in and worship
And answer the call,
For we are a part of the family. R.

A Covenant is a promise we make
with God and with one another,
a promise to live God's way. Let us now make a covenant with God and each other.
In the presence of God and one another,
we give thanks for the example and lasting
love of Jesus Christ,
who shows us how to live God's Way.

Jesus is here, let us gather around him
and hear him talk to us.
We come from all along the plains of the
Saint Lawrence River.
From the suburbs of Montreal

Gathering to be united, strong, and resolutely
determined to share God's Word and to live
according to The Way of Christ.
This is our new home,
this is our new Community of Faith

Wanted by God, planned by God, and created by God.
Praise and Glory to God,
to Jesus and to the Holy Spirit!
Amen.

Let Us Build A House
(All Are Welcome)
(MV 1)

Let us build a house where love can dwell
And all can safely live,
A place where saints and children tell
How hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions.

R: All are welcome, all are welcome,
All are welcome in this place.

Let us build a house where prophets speak,
And words are strong and true,
Where all God's children dare to seek
To dream God's reign anew.
Here the cross shall stand as witness
And as symbol of God's grace;
Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus. R.

Let us build a house where love is found
In water, wine and wheat:
A banquet hall on holy ground
Where peace and justice meet.
Here the love of God, through Jesus,
Is revealed in time and space;
As we share in Christ the feast that frees us. R.

"All are welcome in this place."

Let us build a house where hands will reach
Beyond the wood and stone
To heal and strengthen, serve and teach,
And live the Word they've known.
Here the outcast and the stranger
Bear the image of God's face;
Let us bring an end to fear and danger. R.

Let us build a house where all are named,
Their songs and visions heard
And loved and treasured, taught and claimed
As words within the Word.
Built of tears and cries and laughter,
Prayers of faith and songs of grace,
Let this house proclaim from floor to rafter. R.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

We Are One
(VU 402)

We are one as we come,
As we come, joyful to be here,
In the praise on our lips
There's a sense that God is near.
We are one as we sing,
As we seek, we are found;
And we come needful of God's grace
As we meet, together in this place.

We are one as we share,
As we share brokenness and fear,
In the touch of a hand
There's a sense that God is here.
We are one as we care,
As we heal, we are healed;
And we share warmth in God's embrace
As we pray together in this place.

We are one as we feast,
As we feast, peace becomes the sign;
In the bread and the wine
There's a sense of love divine.
We are one as we come,
As we feed, we are fed;
And we feel God's refreshing grace
As we meet at table in this place.

We are one as we hear,
As we hear, heart and hand unite;
In the word we receive
There's a sense that God is light.
We are one as we leave,
As we love, we are loved;
And we seek justice in God's ways
As we move together from this place.

- Anthem -

Family of Faith

by Valerie MacKenzie

In Christ's name we gather,
In God's presence we rejoice,
In the Spirit, strangers and friends
Sing united as one voice,
Abounding in hope,
Rooted in love, assured by the gifts
Of God's marvelous grace,
Believing in one
That was sent from above,
We stand as a fam'ly of faith...

- Prayer -
A New Creed
(VU 918)

We are not alone,
We live in God's world.

We believe in God:
Who has created and is creating,
Who has come in Jesus,
The Word made flesh,
To reconcile and make new,
Who works in us and others
By the Spirit.

We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
To celebrate God's presence,
To live with respect in Creation,
To love and serve others,
To seek justice and resist evil,
To proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
Our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.

Thanks be to God.

God as a Light

Circle us God, keep peace within.
Circle us God, keep love within.
Circle us God, keep trust within.
Circle us God, keep truth within.
Circle us God, keep good within.

The Church Is Wherever God's People
(VU 579)

The church is wherever
God's people are praising,
singing God's goodness
For joy on this day.
The church is wherever
Disciples of Jesus
Remember his story
And walk in his way.

The church is wherever
God's people are helping,
Caring for neighbours
In sickness and need.
The church is wherever
God's people are sharing
The words of the Bible
In gift and in deed.

- The Offering -

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
(VU 541)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God, all creatures high and low;
Give thanks to God in love made known:
Creator, Word and Spirit, One.

Gloire à Dieu, notre Créateur;
A Christ, notre Rédempteur;
Gloire à l'Esprit Consolateur!
Louange et gloire à Dieu, Sauveur.

You Shall Go Out with Joy
(VU 884, from Isaiah 55)

You shall go out with joy
And be led forth with peace,
And the mountains and the hills
Will break forth before you.
There'll be shouts of joy
And the trees of the fields
Will clap, will clap their hands.

And all the trees of the fields
Will clap their hands,
And the trees of the fields will clap their hands,
And the trees of the fields will clap their hands,
While you go out with joy.

- Commissioning -

From John 17:21

We have come to celebrate the amalgamation of our communities.
It is done. It is now past!
Now, we are one according to Jesus' prayer.
Yes, Jesus said: May they be one as we are one.
We leave this place, enriched by one another.
Strengthened by the Word of God
Reassured by the power of Christ.
We go, pushed by the Spirit and trusting in God always.

Well, go! Go share the news, the good news and be happy always.
You are loved, important and necessary to this world.
