- Prelude (partial) -

Ave, verum corpus
Natum de Maria Virgine,
Vere passum immolatum
In Cruce pro homine,
Cujus latus perforatum
Unda fluxit et sanguine,
Esto nobis praegustatum
In mortis examine.

Ave Verum Corpus

(W. A. Mozart)

Hail, true Body,
born of the Virgin Mary,
who having truly suffered,
was sacrificed on the cross
for mankind,
whose pierced side
flowed with water and blood:
May it be for us a foretaste
[of the Heavenly banquet]
in the trial of death.

Welcome

...and Fare-You-Well...

I Am a Child of God
(MV 157, verses 1 & 4)

I am a child of God,
I am a glimpse of God's newest creation.
I am a child of God.
I am a child of God.

I am a cry for peace,
I am commitment and dedication,
I am a cry for peace,
I am a cry for peace.

Prayer of Approach

Call to Worship

Come and pray our God, the God of love and power.
We come, happy to be together in this sacred space
and time

We are here and tell God how important God is in our
lives and how we wish to continue this journey with God.
We are together, praying, singing, and enjoying
God's living word: Jesus Christ our saviour.

May this hour gather us in and keep us focused on the
beauty of life and God's love!
Amen!

We Are One
(VU 402)

We are one as we come,
As we come, joyful to be here,
In the praise on our lips
There's a sense that God is near.
We are one as we sing,
As we seek, we are found;
And we come needful of God's grace
As we meet, together in this place.

We are one as we share,
As we share brokenness and fear,
In the touch of a hand
There's a sense that God is here.
We are one as we care,
As we heal, we are healed;
And we share warmth in God's embrace
As we pray together in this place.

We are one as we feast,
As we feast, peace becomes the sign;
In the bread and the wine
There's a sense of love divine.
We are one as we come,
As we feed, we are fed;
And we feel God's refreshing grace
As we meet at table in this place.

We are one as we hear,
As we hear, heart and hand unite;
In the word we receive
There's a sense that God is light.
We are one as we leave,
As we love, we are loved;
And we seek justice in God's ways
As we move together from this place.

- Moments of Reflection -

Before we praise God and sing glory to God,
we take a moment to reflect on our week.
The best moments and the not so good moments
when we could have been better people.

We ask for God's forgiveness and deeply pray
with all our heart
that we become more complete people.
Whatever we did or said or think
that was not worthy of being a child of God
and a brother or sister of Jesus Christ,
That this be forgiven.
That we learn from these moments
Which cut us off from those we love.
Then, we are sorry for ourselves,
because we know it was wrong.
May God forgive us.

I Have Called You by Your Name
(MV 161)

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people
They are mine.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people
They are mine.

I know you will need my touch as you go;
Feel it pulsing in creation's ebb and flow.
Like the woman reaching out,
Choosing faith in spite of doubt,
Hold the hem of Jesus' robe,
Then let it go.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people
They are mine.

Out of Deep, Unordered Water
(VU 453)

Out of deep unordered water
God created land and life;
world of beast and bird and later
twosome people, man and wife.

There is water in the river
bringing life to tree and plant.
Let creation praise its Giver:
there is water in the font.

Water on the human forehead,
birthmark of the love of God,
in the sign of death and rising,
through the sea there runs a road....

A New Creed
(VU 918)

We are not alone,
We live in God's world.
We believe in God:
Who has created and is creating,
Who has come in Jesus,
The Word made flesh,
To reconcile and make new,
Who works in us and others
By the Spirit.

We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
To celebrate God's presence,
To live with respect in Creation,
To love and serve others,
To seek justice and resist evil,
To proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
Our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.

A Statement of Faith

- The Offering -

Invitation to the Offering

This day Eternal God,
we offer our good will and our energy
to those who are in need.
Show us whom you want us to help today,
And let us be grateful we could help.
Our joy is your joy.
Our blessing is your blessing.
Amen.

Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow
(VU 541)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
All creatures high and low;
give thanks to God in love made known;
Creator, Word, and Spirit, One.

Gloire à Dieu notre créateur,
Gloire au Christ notre rédempteur,
Gloire à l'Esprit consolateur
Louange et gloire à Dieu sauveur.

-- Communion --

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift us you hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise.

Christ has died.
Christ is risen.
Christ will come again.

***

Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory is yours, God most holy,
now and forever.

One Bread, One Body
(VU 467)

R: One bread, one body,
One Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many,
Throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew,
Servant or free,
Woman or man, no more.
R.

Many the gifts,
Many the works,
One in the Lord of all.
R.

Grain for the fields,
scattered and grown,
gathered to one, for all.
R.

We Give Thanks

We Are Pilgrims
(VU 595)

We are pilgrims on a journey,
Fellow travellers on the road;
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

Sister, let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you;
Pray that I may have the grace to
Let you be my servant too.

I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you,
Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping,
When you laugh I'll laugh with you;
I will share your joy and sorrow,
Till we've seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven,
We shall find such harmony,
Born of all we've known together
Of Christ's love and agony.

Brother, let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you;
Pray that I may have the grace to
Let you be my servant too.

Commissioning

Go my friends.
Go out in the world although you are not of this world.
We give to God our very best
And pray that peace prevails.

Go tell about God in everything you do.
We are messengers of God's good news,
We can't keep from singing!

Then go and be blessed!
