The gardens around the church were becoming quite a mess, until some of the choir members took
it upon themselves to tidy things up on Monday, 23 July. They cut back the hydranges that had
been encroaching on the east entry to the sanctuary, and cleaned out the weeds along the west
side of the sanctuary and the south side of the nursery / parlour. Presumably they practiced
some hymns while working, but not while the snap shooter was present. Marion's grand-daughter, Sarah (daughter of Andrew Golden), also took part in the cleanup, but she was camera shy, so she is here in thought only. Many thanks, ladies, for a vast improvement in the appearance of the church gardens. And while we're at it, thanks also to Shirley Ellison for maintaining the flowers in the well around the 50th Avenue / Acadia sign. |
