Thanks Gardeners

Posted 23 July 2007
The gardens around the church were becoming quite a mess, until some of the choir members took it upon themselves to tidy things up on Monday, 23 July. They cut back the hydranges that had been encroaching on the east entry to the sanctuary, and cleaned out the weeds along the west side of the sanctuary and the south side of the nursery / parlour. Presumably they practiced some hymns while working, but not while the snap shooter was present.

Marion's grand-daughter, Sarah (daughter of Andrew Golden), also took part in the cleanup, but she was camera shy, so she is here in thought only.

Many thanks, ladies, for a vast improvement in the appearance of the church gardens.

And while we're at it, thanks also to Shirley Ellison for maintaining the flowers in the well around the 50th Avenue / Acadia sign.

Unfortunately we did not snap the gardens beforehand, but suffice it to say they were a mess.

The Hydrangeas still bloom, but they no longer snatch the clothing
of folks entering and leaving the sanctuary.

The Hydrangeas still bloom, but now they don't snatch the clothing of arrivals.

The flowers in the well around the 50th Avenue / Acadia sign are
kept looking great by Shirley Ellison. The 50th / Acadia Well Garden

Thank you, ladies!
