Sunday May 10 2009 was Mother's Day and Outreach Sunday at Summerlea. In
honour of the occasion, Mums for Mums were on display, the Summerlea Youth Choir sang,
and Monique Caissie of the West Island Family Life Centre presented the sermon.|
The Mums for Mums were purchased by members of the congregation in previous weeks in honour of mothers, with the profits to go to support mothers and grandmothers suffering from AIDS and the results of AIDS in Malawi.
Monique Caissie offered an inspired and inspiring discussion of giving to others as illustrated by the parable of the Good Samaritan, closing with a modern Parable of the Brick. Her verve and enthusiasm are infectious and a joy to hear. Unfortunately she has decided to give up her work as coordinator of the West Island Family Life Center and invited any who are interested to apply. She will be a tough act to follow.
Jacob Osborne, Keith McKenzie, John Parmater, Philip Freud, Noah Nudo,
Peter Maklan, Elizabeth & Caroline Rodd, Meaghan Luttrell, Cassandra McKenzie,
Erin Overbury, Maria Nudo (behind the bible) & Michelle McKenzie.
Rafaele Freud bounced to the music, but stopped to check out the snap shooter when he appeared.
but did not catch her gorgeous smile.
