Earth Day 2012 at Summerlea included a number of events:|
Leslie Field played a saxophone solo of "Passepied" - from Suite Bergamasque, C. Debussy in memory of her father, Donald Vincent;
Undeg Edwards presented a cheque in the amount of $845 representing the 23rd (not sure of that number) mile of pennies collected by Summerlea folk, to the Executive Director of St. Columba House, Rev. Patricia Lisson;
Sinclair Harris presented Aileen Smiley of Dix-Milles Villages, who spoke about Fair Trade with an interesting exposé on the background of fair trade coffee;
The Outreach Committee put on a "100 mile lunch", consisting of soup, homemade bread and apple crisp, all made from ingredients produced within 100 miles from Summerlea.
Summerlea Music Director Connie Osborne accompanied Leslie and Leslie'a husband, Keith, turned pages for Connie.

while hefting a jar of pennies presented by Rev. Scott Patton,
