2012 Palm Sunday, Union United Gospel Choir, Youth Skit, Connie BD
Posted 5 April, 2012
Palm Sunday, 1 April 2012, featured the Union United Church Gospel Choir, in celebration of their member, Rolanda Taylor, who has been interning at Summerlea since September and will finish her internship April 15, to become a United Church minister.
The Gospel choir sang several hymns during the service and ended with a postlude that brought the congregation to its feet in a clapping, rocking celebration.
The service also featured a skit re-enacting the palm sunday theme, featuring:
Shawn Bastien
Philip Freud
Raphael Freud
Cassandra McKenzie
Keith McKenzie
Michelle McKenzie
Jacob Osborne
Alayna Roy

We tried to catch some photos of the choirs as they processed into the sanctuary
at the beginning of the service, but only one photo of the Summerlea choir was useable.

The whole troupe then leads the congregation in a rousing song from a recent Summerlea musical.

After the service, the congregation and visitors repaired to Acadia Hall for refreshments,
where Bonnie MacLeod took the following photos.
Marion Golden and Paul Weijers made the very chic signs.
The cakes came from IGA, but Marion made the wee pianos for Connie's BD cake,
What a team!
