Summerlea's annual Baden Powell Service took place 26 February 2012, followed by the annual Pancake Lunch.

Our thanks to Brian Maklan and all those who helped to set up, cook, serve, clean up and put away.

Following are a few photos of the event. You can pick a small photo to see a larger version, then pick Back on your browser to return to this page.

Saturday morning before the event saw some Summerlea folks setting up the hall,
using the dishes and cutlery counted and set out by Brian on Friday.

We caught some quick shots of the Scouts and Guides as they paraded in the colours at the start of the service,
under the watchful eye of usher Val Coffin.

During the service, Rev. Patton announced that Elizabeth (Betty) Cole,
mother of Susan McKenzie and lifetime member of Girl Guides Canada, had died the previous day.

And again as they marched off the colours at the end of the service,
led by District Commissioner Linda Rodrigues-Rodd.

Following the service all repaired to Acadia Hall to enjoy pancakes, ham, maple syrup, juice and coffee or tea,
prepared by Brian and crew in the kitchen and served by Summerlea youth and adults.

Many thanks to Brian Maklan and family, and to all the
others who helped to set up, serve and clean up afterward.
