- Introit -
(VU 343, verse 1)

I love to tell the story
Of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and his glory,
Of Jesus and his love.
I love to tell the story,
Because I know 'tis true;
It satisfies my longings
As nothing else can do.

R. I love to tell the story,
'Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and his love.
(Repeat R.)

Call To Worship

We have come to worship our God.
Our God is the God of love and life.
And real life it is. Life with joys and struggles.
Life with dreams and hopes.
Life with all that makes it worthwhile.
We live a life of children of God.
And We are so loved by a God who gives us abndance.
Thank you, God.
Amen!

Come, You Thankful People Come
(VU 516)

Come, you thankful people, come,
Raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in,
Safe before the storms begin.
God our Maker does provide
For our wants to be supplied;
Come to God's own temple, come,
Raise the song of harvest home!

All the world is God's own field,
Harvests for as God's praise to yield;
Wheat and weeds together sown,
Here for joy or sorrow grown;
First the blade and then the ear,
Then the full corn shall appear;
Harvest giver grant that we
Wholesome grain and pure may be.

For our God one day shall come,
And shall take this harvest home;
From the field shall in that day
All offenses purge away,
Giving angels charge at last
In the fire the weeds to cast;
But the fruitful ears to store
In the garner evermore.

Even so, God, quickly come,
To your final harvest home;
Gather all you people in,
Free from sorrow, free from sin,
There, forever purified,
In your presence to abide;
Come, with all your angels, come,
Raise the glorious harvest home.

And after our confession

There are Words of Assurance

Jesus Bids Us Shine
(VU 585)

Jesus bids us shine, with a clear, pure light,
Like a little candle burning in the night;
In this world of darkness so let us shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.

Jesus bids us shine, first of all for Him;
Well He sees and knows it if our light is dim;
Jesus walks beside us to help us shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.

Jesus bids us shine, then, for all around
Many kinds of darkness in this world are found:
Sin, and want, and sorrow; so we must shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.

Jesus bids us shine, as we work for Him,
Bringing those that wander from the paths of sin;
He will ever help us, if we shine,
You in your small corner, and I in mine.

Thanksgiving!

(John Ness Beck)

For seed-time and harvest
And the good will of men,
We give thanks to God the Father
Once again;
For shelter in winter,
For the thaw in the spring,
Our praise and thanksgiving
To the Loord now we bring...

- The Offering -

Prayer Over the Offering

Bless this offering Father God.
Bless those who are giving
and those who are receiving.
Bless and console those who are in a position
where they cannot give but wish they could.
Help us make a difference
so that all may go in peace today.
This we ask through Christ, our model, our
friend, and Saviour.
Amen.

* Offertory Hymn *
As Those of Old Their FIrts-Fruits Brought
(VU 518, verses 1 & 2)

As those of old their first-fruits brought
Of vineyard, flock, and field
To God, the giver of all good,
The source of bounteous yield;
So we today our first fruits bring:
The wealth of this good land,
Of farm and market, shop and home,
Mind and heart and hand.

A world in need now summons us
To labor, love, and give,
To make our life an offering
To God, that all may live.
The church of Christ is calling us
To make the dream come true:
A world redeemed, by Christ-like love,
All life in Christ made new.

Sing to the Lord of Harvest

Sing to the Lord of harvest,
Sing songs of love and praise;
With joyful hearts and voices
Your hallelujahs raise!
By whom the rolling seasons
In fruitful order move;
Sing to the Lord of harvest
A joyful song of love.

God makes the clouds drop fatness,
The deserts bloom and spring,
The hills leap up in gladness,
The valleys laugh and sing.
God fills them all with fullness
All things with large increase;
And crowns the year with goodness,
With plenty, and with peace.

Heap to this sacred altar
All things God's goodness gave,
The golden sheaves of harvest,
The souls Christ died to save.
Your hearts lay down before him
When at his feet you fall,
And with your lives adore him
Who gave his life for all.

Commissioning

I wish we were always in the state of Thanksgiving!
We are continually thanking God for his goodness.
Indeed, and today is even more special.
We praise God for the energy and strength we are given.
And hope that it will never end!
God's love endures forever!
