Love Us into Fullness
(MV 81, verse 3)

Love us into fullness,

And we will be strong;

Jesus, walk beside us,

Fill our hearts with song.

Inviting the Light

Let this light remind us of the sacred fire that dwells
within our hearts and that our hearts are connected
with God, with our families, with our communities,
and with our universal family. May the flame of
Christ's eternal light find and welcome every Spirit.
Amen.

Call to Worship
(based on Psalm 95)

Come, let us sing a song to our God!
Let us raise a joyful shout
to the rock of our salvation!

Let us come
before God with thanks;
let us shout words of praise to our Creator.
For God is great, ruler of all creation.
Mountains and oceans are in God's hands,
come let us worship God!

I Heard the Voice of Jesus
(VU 626)

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto me and rest;
Lay down, O weary one, lay down
Your head upon my breast."
I came to Jesus as I was,
So weary, worn, and sad.
I found in him a resting place,
And he has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give
The living water, thirsty one;
Stoop down and drink and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream.
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am the dawning light.
Look unto me, your morn shall rise,
And all your day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In him my star, my sun,
And in that light of life I'll walk
Till travelling days are done.

Prayers for Grace and Transformation

When we quarrel, hear us, O God.
When our faith in you is thin and we turn on each other,
and we thirst for unity;
forgive our words that hurt, O God,
so we may drink again from the water of life.

In our prejudice, hear us O God,
when our insecurities bring on fear of others
and we thirst for trust;
forgive our narrowness of grace O God,
any may we drink again from the water of life.

In our hurt of others, hear us, O God.
When we sum people up on hearsay rather than
meet them in their living and we thirst for honesty;
forgive the gossip we believe, O God,
and may we drink from the water of life. Amen

And Words of Assurance

I Have Called You by Your Name
(MV 161)

I have called you by your name,
You are mine;
I have gifted you and ask you now to shine.
I will not abandon you;
All my promises are true.
You are gifted, called, and chosen;
You are mine.

I will help you learn my name as you go;
Read it written in my people, help them grow.
Pour the water in my name,
Speak the word your soul can claim,
Offer Jesus' body, given long ago.

I know you will need my touch as you go;
Ffeel it pulsing in creation's ebb and flow.
Like the woman reaching out,
Choosing faith in spite of doubt,
Hold the hem of Jesus' robe, then let it go.

I have given you a name, it is mine;
I have given you my Spirit as a sign.
With my wonder in your soul,
Make my wounded children whole;
Go and tell my precious people
They are mine.

- The Anthem -

Panis angelicus
Fit panis hominum
Dat panis coelicus
Figuris terminum
O res mirabilis
Manducat dominum
Pauper, pauper
Servus et humilis.

May the Bread of Angels
Become bread for mankind;
The Bread of Heaven puts
All foreshadowings to an end;
Oh, thing miraculous!
The body of the Lord will nourish
the poor, the poor,
the servile, and the humble.

Offertory Hymn

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God all creatures high and low;
Give thanks to God in love made known:
Creator, Word, and Spirit, One.

All the Way My Savior Leads Me
(VU 635)

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate'er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Oh, the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father's house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.
