Do not let your hearts be troubled.
We come with our worries,
our questions, and our hopes.

In God's house there is room for all.
We come seeking a place of belonging.
Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
We come to follow,
even when the path is unclear.

The Spirit calls us into trust and into community.
Come, let us worship God.

God of Grace and God of Glory
(VU 686)

God of grace and God of glory,
On your people pour your power;
Now fulfill your church's story;
Bring its bud to glorious flower.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
For the facing of this hour.

Lo, the hosts of evil round us
Scorn your Christ, assail your ways;
Fears and doubts too long have bound us;
Free our hearts to work and praise.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
For the living of these days.

Cure your children's warring madness,
Bend our pride to your control;
Shame our wanton selfish gladness,
Rich in goods and poor in soul.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
Lest we miss your kingdom's goal.

Set our feet on lofty places;
Gird our lives that they may be
Armoured with all Christ-like graces,
Pledged to set all captives free.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
n That we fail not them nor thee.

Prayer of Approach

Loving and faithful God.
We come into your presence with hearts
that are sometimes steady and sometimes troubled.
You know the weight we carry,
the questions we hold,
the uncertainties we face,
the quiet longings we hardly dare to name.
And yet, you call us here.
So draw near to us now, O God.
Still our restless hearts.
Open our minds to your truth.
Fill us with your Spirit
that we may trust you more deeply
and follow where Christ leads.
We come to worship you---not because
we have it all together,
but because you hold us together in love.
And so we offer you our praise,
our prayers, and our whole selves.
In the name of Jesus, who is the Way.
Amen.

And an Assurance of Pardon

O Lord my God (How Great Thou Art)
(VU 238)

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

R:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander
I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. R.

But when I think, that God, his Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin. R.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And there proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!" R.

Praise with Joy the World's Creator
(VU 312)

Praise with joy the world's creator,
God of Justice, love, and peace,
Source and end of human knowledge,
God whose grace shall never cease.
Celebrate the Maker's glory,
Power to rescue and release.

Praise to Christ who feeds the hungry,
Frees the captive, finds the lost,
Heals the sick, upsets religion,
Fearless both of fate and cost.
Celebrate Christ's constant presence:
Friend and stranger, guest and host.

Praise the Spirit sent among us,
Liberating truth from pride,
Forging bonds where race or gender,
Age or nation dare divide.
Celebrate the Spirit's treasure:
Foolishness none dare deride.

Praise the Maker, Christ and Spirit,
One God in community,
Calling Christians to embody
Oneness and diversity.
This the world shall see reflected:
God is One and One in Three.

Lift Me Up

(Jill Gallina)

Lord, I don't understand the ways
of the world
Some things seem just to hard to bear.
Where are the answers
to the suffereing and pain?
O Lord, reach out and show me
That you're there...

"The Offering will now be received"

Offering Dedication

Heavenly father,

we thank you for the ability to share our time,
talents, and money to further your work
in the community and the world.
We ask that you bless these gifts
that they may provide for our neighbours near and far.
In the name of your Son we pray. Amen

For the Gift of Creation
(VU 538)

For the gift of creation,
The gift of your love,
And the gift of the Spirit
By which we live,
We thank you and give you
The fruit of our hands.
May your grace be proclaimed
By the gifts that we give.

When Will People Cease Their Fighting?
(VU 687)

When will people cease their fighting?
When will armies wage no war,
Nations conquer not their neighbour,
Weapons idle, used no more?
When will guns and bombs be silent?
When will captives be set free?
All creation groans in longing
For the world's true liberty.

Floods and earthquakes, drought and famine
Plague the world with awesome ill,
But far greater is war's horror
Caused by human, stubborn will.
Blest are those who, working, praying,
Purpose in their hearts to be
Instruments of peace, committed to
The nations' harmony.

As we strive for peace with vigour,
Hoping to be shown the way,
We are strengthened in the knowledge
Of a future, perfect day;
For we know that deeper, richer peace
Is ours when Christ shall reign,
Then will all our swords be plowshares
And God's children free from pain.
