The third in a series of Seniors' Community Luncheons on the theme Meet Your Neighbours was held in
St. Andrew's Hall on Wednesday, November 29. Approximately 20-25 folks from Summerlea and the
community were present to enjoy lunch, meet some other folks and, on this day, hear some information
about Seniors and Fraud. Following are a few photos of the proceedings (pickable to see a larger version). |
| In opening the event, Summerlea's minister, Howard Clark, mentioned the suggestion and donation boxes at the entry door, referring to some of the suggestions that have already been submitted. He noted that January's meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. The Tuesday date is intended to give a chance to those who have conflicting schedules on Wednesdays to join the luncheons. |

| The presenters, CLSC representatives Harry and Susan, offered a very informative picture of the fraudulent situations that seniors can find themselves in, with several scenarios acted out in a pretty convincing manner. Discussion amongst those leaving after the luncheon dwelt upon all the things we should do but don't to keep from being defrauded. |

| A few photos of the participants as they ate lunch before the presentation. |

In closing, Howard thanked Marg Lynn for preparing and serving the soup and rolls, and to Roy Rodd who served and washed the dishes but stayed clear of the camera. |
